Definitions

Value
An single number, often referring to numbers on the character sheet.
Ex. 23, 5.98


Modifiers
A number prefixed by a plus or minus, this is used to modify a value or roll. Often shortened to 'mod'.
Ex. +3, -7, power mod


X d Y
Dice represented by [number] d(ice) [size]
Ex. 2d6 (two six-sided dice), 3d4 (three four-sided dice), d12 (one twelve-sided die)


Stat
A category containing substats, it has a value and modifier assigned to it.
Ex. Body, mind and spirit
Attributes > Stats


Substat
Assigned to a stat. Has a value and modifier assigned to it. The value cannot be greater than the stats value.
Ex. Power, Insight, Arcane


Trait
A perk or ability that acts as a bonus to the character.
Ex. Traits


Ancestry
An ancestry is what species a character is. Each ancestry gives

Health
Max health is 16 + two times body. Health starts out at max health and cannot go higher.


Armor
All damage taken will be reduced by armor, to a minimum of 1.


Dodge
Dodge is 12 + agility and awareness mod - armor. An attacker has to roll higher than dodge to hit you.


Creature
Ex. A player, a goblin, a dragon, a turret.
Ex. NOT a trap, boulder, locked door.


Reaction
An action taken outside of your turn.
